Speaker
Luis Barahona (Architect, Technical Manager and Head of Lighting Design for ERCO Asia Pacific and the Middle East Headquarters)
How do you light and display art in the most
cost-effective and conservation-conscious way possible? Join Mr. Luis Barahona from ERCO, technical sponsor of City As Studio, as he shares the importance of understanding the
principle of good exhibition lighting to enhance artworks, all while explaining
the different lighting methods used by museums and galleries worldwide.
This session will also explain how sunlight and
artificial light affect the conservation of artworks, and how to minimise
degradation of artworks through light exposure. Along with these practical
considerations, this session also covers the various factors that influence and
change the viewer’s perspective when viewing and appreciating art, such as
colour temperature and the CRI (Colour Rendering Index) of the light fixtures. The
talk will be accompanied by a 20-minute guided tour.
