Jo-ey Tang
Jo-ey Tang (b. 1978) is a Hong Kong-born, American-raised curator at Palais de Tokyo, Paris. In 2013, he curated the group exhibition Forming the Loss in Darkness at Galerie Praz-Delavallade, Paris, as part of Nouvelles Vagues, the young curators season in Paris initiated by the Palais de Tokyo. He is a contributor to Artforum.com and founded the curatorial project The Notary Public in 2010, while attending the Master of Fine Arts program at New York University Steinhardt School. Tang obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute. His first curatorial project took place in his apartment in Manhattan, exhibiting the works of established and emerging artists such as Carol Bove, Wayne Koestenbaum, Ben Schumacher and Elaine Cameron-Weir, among others. Tang has also exhibited as an artist in Berlin, Paris, and New York. He was an Edward F. Albee Foundation fellow in 2011. From 2009-2014 he was the arts editor of Brooklyn-based literary journal n+1.
