Shi Pi
Shi Pi (b. 1974, Guizhou Liping, China) graduated from the Arts College of Guizhou University with a degree in Oil Painting in 1998. He later joined the Guiyang Urban Parts Contemporary Artists Studio in 2006.
Shi is one of the most promising young artists in China. Aside from his solo exhibition, Homeland Plan (Putri Bali Art Center, Shanghai, 2008), his works are frequently shown in group exhibitions including The Narrative of Guiyang – Urban Parts Contemporary Artists on the New Long March (Guangzhou 53 Art Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art Chengdu, 2012), 2011 Chengdu Biennale Special Invitation Exhibition – Memory Suture Contemporary Art Exhibition (L-Art Gallery, Chengdu, 2011), Young Generation – Contemporary Art Invitational Exhibition First Series (798 Art Area, Beijing) and An Extra Cut – Guiyang K11 art village x Urban Parts Contemporary Artists Opening Exhibition (Jinyang Sunny Tower, Guiyang, 2010).
