Xia Yan
Xia Yan (b.1975, Guizhou, China) graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Guizhou Normal University (1998), the Fresco Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (2005) and the Software School of Xiamen University majoring in Digital Media Technology (2012). He joined the Urban Parts Contemporary Artists in Guiyang in 2007.
Xia’s works were shown in recent exhibitions, including Suddenly – Guiyang K11 art village x Urban Parts Contemporary Artists Group Exhibition (Huafu Art Space, Shanghai, 2011), SPREADING WILD – Mix and Match Image China Contemporary Oil Painting Invitation Exhibition (Shenzhen Art Museum, Xi’an Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Shijiazhuang and Hubei Museum of Art, China, 2010-11), On the Untitled Mountain – Solo Exhibition in Jinse Gallery (Chongqing) and Post Avant-Garde Chinese Contemporary Art (Atting House, Hong Kong, 2007).
His works are widely collected by Museum of Contemporary Art Chengdu, Yue Hu Museum of Art (Shanghai), Guiyang Art Museum and SooBin Art Int’l (Singapore), among others.
