Zhang Ding
Zhang Ding’s art practice is mainly presented through his solo projects, including video, installations, paintings and live performance, etc. Constructing absurd scenes full of contrast, he demonstrates and interprets metaphors with societal references by focusing on sensory perception and will. They may be seen as a series of deconstructed miseen scenes, or as an standing sculpture revealing twisting and merging emotions. The scenic displacement, inspired by the tensions and confrontation in terms of sensory cognition, creates a new spiritual world.
